The basics

Why, when, and where.

Why

The Masai Mara National Park is one of the world’s greatest safari destinations, featuring vast African savannah plains, breathtaking landscapes, and an abundance of incredible wildlife. The park shares unfenced borders with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, allowing for the seamless migration of wildlife. The park shares unfenced borders with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, allowing for the seamless migration.

Visitors can witness the world’s most famous migration: over 1.5 million wildebeest move between Kenya and Tanzania in search of fresh grasslands, creating a dramatic spectacle as herds cross crocodile-infested rivers. Interact with the Maasai people, learning about their century-old traditions and bush survival skills.

When

Beyond the migration, the Masai Mara offers year-round thrilling experiences, including game drives and hot air balloon safaris. Each year, visitors flock to the reserve to witness the Great Migration, which occurs from July to November.
